About Mother’s Day Gift Ideas...

Choosing a Mother’s Days gift is easy. I think the hardest part is to not procrastinate. Spring is such an exciting energetic time of the year, that it’s hard to stay grounded. There is so much happening in the spring, it’s easy to get caught up and forget little things, like which Sunday is Mother’s Day, before it is suddenly upon us. Mother’s Day is May 8th so you still have time to plan and shop and be ready.

The most important thing about choosing a Mother’s Day gift is to remember to get out of the kitchen. Unless your mom is a gourmet cook and all she dreams about is a new gadget for her kitchen or a best seller cookbook, stay away from kitchen items. No pots and pans, no appliances even if will make the best crepes in the neighborhood. And, for goodness sakes no automatic jar opener! Let’s please remember mom is a woman.

The choices for moms are endless, flowers and perfume top the list for many, but on a more personal note, anything that involves her passion will be perfect. Do you know what your mom is passionate about? Ask yourself, what does she do when she has free, all to herself time? Reading? Gardening? Shopping? Is she into crafts, sewing, or the arts, writing or painting? Does she have a collection? You know your mom better than most.

As with any gift, remembering Mom doesn’t have to be expensive. The best gifts fit the personality of the person. The best gifts allow the person receiving the gift to know you notice what they like, what they are passionate about because it takes a caring person to take the time to know that.

Mother’s day is May 8th, show your mom how much you care.

Hello, Welcome to my Blog...

Why “Gifts and Gab? Everyone loves to receive a thoughtful gift, I certainly do. Finding, buying and giving a perfect gift is becoming a lost art. It seems to me too often people take the easy route by asking the person for a list of what they want and then buying something off that list. How boring!

But in all fairness, finding a thoughtful perfect gift takes time. People are busy. I know that. I hope to help my readers in the art of buying a thoughtful gift. I plan on offering some ideas, hopefully insight, and practical advice. I may do some product reviews, offer some suggestions, and share some of my personal experience in the gift giving area.

I love to shop! I especially love to shop for gifts because I believe gifts should come from the heart. Finding the perfect gift for someone always makes my day. I think it’s a nice compliment to show someone you know them well enough to choose something special for them. Something that fits their personality; something they didn’t expect. What a great surprise! After all, It really isn’t much fun to open gifts when you already know what they are. I’m hoping Gifts and Gab will help visitors rediscover the joy of gift giving.

That should cover the “Gift part, and then there is the “Gab” part.

Blogs should be informative and fun, right? And so to not lock myself in to one subject there is the “Gab” part. An opening for some good conversation as inspiration takes hold. Who knows where this could lead. I’ve never been one to stay on a topic for long. How boring is that? Besides, gift giving occasions cover lots of ground. Hopefully all will be fun and interesting and you’ll want to return to the land of “Gifts and Gab”often.
