As a huge Beatles fan, I am excited about the soon to be released Remastered Beatles Stereo Box Set. It’s set for release on September 9th 2009, and Amazon.com
is now taking pre-orders for this collection. This would be at the top of my Christmas List, but I’ve decided I can’t wait until Christmas!
I’m not a collector, I’m just someone who “grew up” with the Beatles. I was just 12 when their first #1 hit, “Please Please Me.” topped British charts in 1963. I remember sitting in front of our TV Sunday February 9, 1964, at 8 p.m, impatiently waiting for their appearance on the Ed Sullivan show for the first time. It took my sisters and I a bit of talking before our Dad would let us have control of the TV that week. (One of his favorite shows was on at the same time.) He did allow us to watch the show and then made fun of our excitement over seeing the Beatles for the first time. That night seemed to change everything! There isn’t an early Beatles song that doesn’t bring back a few fond memories of my teen years.
You probably know someone who, like me, would love this set. Now is the time to pre-order one. It’s sure to be a hot item this Christmas and availability may well be compromised.
